ABOUT

Hi my name is David Lucas, a chainsaw carver living in West Sussex. I graduated from Plymouth University with a BA Hons in Product Design and then began pursuing a lifelong dream to become a professional pilot. Whilst doing this I discovered chainsaw carving through my fiancées family and decided to give it a go, now it's just the wood chips that fly!

My work can be seen at Wakehurst Place; Kew Gardens; Westonbirt Arboretum; Marwell Wildlife; Egerton Park (Bexhill-on-Sea); National Trust locations at Sheffield Park, Nyman's Park and Charlecote Park and various parks in Brighton as well as many public spaces. I also undertake private commissions small or large and all my sculptures are produced form sustainably sourced timber.

If you would like to see some of my sculptures coming to life, then take a look at my YouTube channel by searching for ‘Chainsaw Dave Time Lapse’. If you enjoy watching, please feel free to subscribe!

I also work closely with Woodland Centre Ltd and my sculptures can be viewed and bought through their farm shop. Please visit www.woodlandcentre.co.uk for more information.

If you have a project in mind and would like to have a friendly chat then please feel free to get I touch.

Thanks
